The Inagural 30 Day Challenge : Blogging

I’ve heard that in order groove a new habit, you need to do it every day for 30 days straight. Then after 30 days, it just becomes natural and a part of your daily routine.

With this in mind, last night on Seesmic, I issued a 30 day challenge to myself and anyone who wanted to join me. For someone with Social Media Enhanced ADD, this is super tough, but I’m hoping that by committing to doing something and making it public, I’ll be able to see it through to the end.

So for my first 30 day challenge, I’m going to focus on posting to this blog for the next 30 days. My blogging muscle has gotten weak and I need to build it up again.

Anybody want to join in? Is there a good habit that you want to develop?

I’m in … a handwritten note a day to a current customer or client, someone who has not closed on a transaction. Off to stock up on thank you notes …

Suggestion. Put together a “Editorial Calendar”. I am doing that right now for next year. Then, put it on your Outlook (or google) calendar to remind you what to write about. The big publications all do that religiously. That’s forcing yourself into (or committing) it big time. Good luck and I’ll be egging you along.

    Andy,
    Sounds like a great challenge!
I’ll have to agree with Mukund here in that writing out a weekly blogging schedule definitely helps. Making note of things that you’d like to discuss definitely creates for better time management. I myself try to plan this way though in reporting the news sometimes, I have to do it more often…but hey, that’s what the early mornings and coffee are for.
